Get started with files
Use Files to store work materials, organize folders, share with colleagues, and collect files from people outside your company. To begin, sign in to ClodDoc and open My files.
Choose a location
Section titled “Choose a location”| Section | What you will find |
|---|---|
| My files | Your personal work space. You decide who can access its materials. |
| Company files | Shared company materials. Whether you can change them depends on your folder permissions. |
| Shared with me | Files and folders colleagues have shared from their personal spaces. |
| Recent | Objects you have recently opened. |
| Favorites | Objects you have marked for quick access. |
| Links | External links you created, including their status and revocation controls. |
| File requests | Requests you created to receive files from other people. |
| Trash | Deleted objects that you own. |
Shared with me and Favorites do not create extra copies. You work with the original object and its version history.
Open a file or folder
Section titled “Open a file or folder”- Select a folder name to open its contents.
- Select a file to open the Details panel.
- Check Role and Access source. These explain why you can access the object and which actions are available.
- Choose an action, such as Download current version, Add to favorites, or Upload new version.
For folder details, open the three-dot menu beside the folder and choose Details. The same menu contains the actions available for that object. Close the panel with Close details.
Selecting a file does not automatically download it or open a document editor.
Adjust the file view
Section titled “Adjust the file view”Switch between List and Grid, and sort by name or date. Use the breadcrumbs or Folders and spaces to move between folders. When there are more objects than fit on one page, use the page controls below the list.
For a first upload, create a folder with New folder, then choose Upload. Wait until the file is ready: transferring its bytes and checking its safety are separate stages.
When an action is missing
Section titled “When an action is missing”Actions depend on your access to the current object. Share and Colleague access are available to the owner. Uploading and renaming require owner or editor access. Check the role shown in Details and contact the folder owner if you need different permissions.
Contracts and records associated with a bank and merchant belong in the separate Operations → Documents section.
