Find files and work records

ClodDoc search brings together the files and operational records available to you. It respects permissions: a matching name does not grant access to someone else’s object.

  1. Choose Search in the toolbar or navigation.
  2. Enter at least two characters: part of a name, an organization name or another known term.
  3. Choose a scope: all available records, files or operations. Operations search requires an appropriate role.
  4. Wait for the results to update, then select an item.
  5. Move between result pages when more results are available.

The query and scope appear in the page address. You can bookmark or share that address, but each colleague will only see objects they are permitted to access.

Some text formats support content indexing after processing. The current version supports UTF-8 TXT, Markdown and CSV. For other formats, start with the file name and available metadata.

  • Check the spelling and try a shorter term.
  • Select another search scope.
  • Confirm that you have direct access or inherited folder access.
  • For a recently uploaded text file, check processing and index status in its details.
  • Open the containing folder to distinguish a search issue from an access issue.

An unavailable source may produce partial results. Read the notice and retry when that source recovers. Absence from an incomplete result set does not establish that an object was deleted.

If a result no longer opens, its permissions or state may have changed since the search ran. Ask the object’s owner for help.
