Data review
Data review brings together ambiguous business mappings that need a human decision. Users with Operations access can inspect the queues. Decisions require the Administrator Operations role.
Before making a decision
Section titled “Before making a decision”Check original names and details in the source spreadsheet. Similar names do not necessarily refer to the same merchant or legal entity. Decisions affect data relationships and calculations.
Open Operations → Data review. The four tabs are Unidentified merchants, No legal entity, Merges, and Duplicate cards.
Match an unidentified merchant
Section titled “Match an unidentified merchant”- In Unidentified merchants, check the name, row count, and turnover.
- Select Make a decision.
- If the entry refers to an existing merchant, choose the Target merchant and select Match.
- If it is a separate merchant, select This is a separate merchant.
- After the server responds, check the refreshed queue.
If you are unsure, close the dialog and verify the source data. Do not choose the closest name merely to clear the queue.
Assign a legal entity
Section titled “Assign a legal entity”- In No legal entity, choose a bank-merchant pair and select Assign legal entity.
- Choose the Legal entity.
- Enter a Reason with at least three characters. Use a meaningful explanation of your decision.
- Select Save rule.
The rule is saved and applied to matching data, including subsequent imports. The queue shows the active assignment and its revision.
To revoke the rule, select Revoke assignment, enter a Reason for revocation, and select Confirm assignment revocation. Future imports stop applying that legal entity, and current rows without a source-provided entity return to the queue.
Review a legal entity merge
Section titled “Review a legal entity merge”- In Merges, compare the Keep legal entity and Merge sides.
- Select Review.
- Check the direction: turnover and aliases from the absorbed entity move to the retained entity.
- Select Confirm merge or Do not merge.
The percentage indicates candidate similarity, not verified legal identity. Existing monetary relationships can block the action on the server. The interface does not provide a general undo button for a completed merge.
Choose a primary merchant record
Section titled “Choose a primary merchant record”Duplicate cards means several source records for the same bank-merchant pair.
- In that tab, select Select card.
- In Primary card, choose the Card by its source row number and connection date.
- Enter a Reason with at least three characters.
- Select Save selection.
Source rows are preserved. The decision is tied to source data. If that data changes, the previous decision can become stale; review the available records again.
To undo a saved selection, select Revoke decision, provide a reason, and select Confirm revocation. The system then chooses the primary record using its normal rule.
If the response is lost
Section titled “If the response is lost”Use Retry the same decision or Refresh queue. If reference data failed to load, retry it before choosing a target merchant or legal entity.
An empty queue saying no action is needed is different from a loading error. For an error, select Retry.
Related work
Section titled “Related work”Banks, merchants, and legal entities originate from the source and are used in these decisions. There is no separate general-purpose reference-data editor in the current interface. After changes, check imports and balances.
